1) Forced liquidation under a misleading rule. FXCM closed all six of my positions at once by margin call: a loss of USD 51,283, while my account still held about USD 135,000 of equity. FXCM's margin page says liquidation happens at typically 50% of the maintenance margin, and my account manager, Rayane Yacoub (Head of MENA), sent me that page in writing as the one that applies to my account. I was closed at 100%, with no warning. Closing just one position would have been enough to bring the account back above the requirement. FXCM closed everything.2) Different conditions for comparable clients. Before the loss I asked for higher leverage. Mr Yacoub wrote that 100:1 was the maximum FXCM can offer for my account size. That was not the case: another client with the same residence, the same account type and a similar balance pays USD 500 of margin per 100K USD/CHF, where I pay USD 2,000. On those conditions I would not have been margin-called at all. After my loss the answer became "assessed case by case" and "business reasons".I asked for a written explanation of both points. I was sent to a web form.
