MultiBank announced a mainly Emirati board for MultiBank Exchange Holding, FX News Group reported on 4 November. Chairman Naser Taher listed Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, vice-chairman Mohammed Al Hakim, Ali bin Khalid bin Zayed Al Falasi, Rashid Sultan Al Malik, Majid Al Ghaslan and David Ogg.
The company says the board will oversee governance, international expansion and partnerships for a platform serving banks, financial institutions, hedge funds, family offices and derivatives brokers. Taher described plans to connect GCC, BRICS and other emerging-market institutions with global liquidity and settlement infrastructure. This board announcement is separate from Al Hakim’s previously reported MB.io appointment.
MultiBank claims October turnover above $500 billion, daily volumes up to $23 billion, over 30 tier-one banks or liquidity providers, more than 250 currencies and fiat/digital-asset settlement. It also claims a 400-nanosecond matching engine and credit and settlement services for counterparties. The report questions the substantiation of the group’s scale and speed claims; these figures and superlatives are not independently audited results or execution guarantees.
