MultiBank Group appointed Mohammed Al Hakim as vice chairman and CEO of its digital-asset unit MB.io, according to a 2 November report. Working with founder and chairman Naser Taher, he is tasked with taking MB.io into new markets and expanding MultiBank Exchange’s institutional reach.
The company describes partnerships with financial institutions, governments and sovereign funds, alongside tokenisation of real-world assets, institutional trading and cross-border settlement. Al Hakim previously led Crypto.com’s UAE business after serving in the federal government. He said his priorities were commercial expansion and practical infrastructure partnerships; the appointment does not itself establish new regulatory permissions.
FX News Group also challenged an unsupported $32 billion valuation in MultiBank’s release and described its reported monthly trading volume around $450 billion as unverified. Those numbers are company-related claims, not established measures of the appointment’s value or independently confirmed financial performance.
