IG Group cancelled 24,522,153 treasury shares on 5 November, Finance Magnates reported. Issued capital now comprises 337,035,715 shares, with none held in treasury. Each cancelled share had a nominal value of 0.005 pence. IG gives 337,035,715 as the voting-rights denominator for shareholders calculating FCA disclosure thresholds.
The transaction cancels shares already in treasury. It is not an additional market repurchase. Separately, a £125 million buyback announced in March began in April and was later halted following the proposed Underdog acquisition. By 3 August, that programme had bought 1,994,774 shares for about £32.9 million; the report does not establish that it accounts for all shares now cancelled.
The report also records October purchases by CEO Breon Corcoran of 70,000 shares, costing about £661,913, and by CFO Clifford Abrahams of 10,000 shares, costing about £94,399. Their combined 80,000 shares cost about £756,312. Those personal transactions are distinct from the treasury cancellation, and the filings gave no motive for the purchases.
