As of 7 October 2026, Trade Nation has published a detailed guide for FXCM UK clients as the firms prepare to transfer the client accounts of Stratos Markets Limited. The guide gives affected traders a timetable and explains what happens to accounts, positions and cash. Finance Magnates' reporting adds an account of the bidding process and the client book Trade Nation expects to receive.
The client timetable
FXCM UK said it would email clients on 6 October 2026 with the options and dates relevant to their accounts. Trade Nation lists 5 November as the deadline for opting out. The page says FXCM UK accounts are scheduled to close shortly after 10 p.m. GMT on 20 November, with new Trade Nation accounts and funds expected to be ready when markets open at 10:05 p.m. GMT on 22 November. Inactive accounts may move earlier, during the week beginning 16 November. Each client should check the date in the email from FXCM UK.
The transfer is still scheduled, rather than completed. Trade Nation says clients can continue using their FXCM UK accounts for now and should not open a Trade Nation account in advance for the migration. Anyone choosing not to transfer must follow the opt-out instructions in FXCM UK's email. Withdrawing a balance alone does not stop an account from transferring.
What happens to positions and platforms
According to Trade Nation's guide, FXCM UK will close open positions at the close of business on 20 November. Cash balances are then due to move in full to newly created Trade Nation accounts. The existing FXCM UK account will close; open positions themselves will not move. Clients should review the effect of closing a position and the new account terms before their scheduled date.
Platform mapping depends on the existing account. Trading Station II CFD and spread betting accounts are mapped to TN Trader. An MT4 CFD account is mapped to MT4 CFD, while an MT4 spread betting account is mapped to TN Trader spread betting because Trade Nation does not offer an MT4 spread betting account. Trade Nation says its pricing differs from FXCM UK's, and some individual instruments may be unavailable. Clients using automated strategies or spread betting should check the applicable platform and contract details.
What the deal reporting adds
Finance Magnates reports that several brokers sought the UK book and that Trade Nation entered the process in July. Its interviews with Trade Nation executives Matthew Wright and Kypros Zoumidou describe a portfolio made up mainly of retail traders, alongside a smaller professional client segment that the firm regards as commercially valuable. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The Finance Magnates article also discusses a possible sale of other FXCM assets. That remains separate from this UK client-book agreement: its reporting does not establish a buyer or completed sale for the rest of the group. For affected UK accounts, Trade Nation's client guide and the individual notice from FXCM UK are the sources for transfer instructions.
