FOREX.com has introduced weekend trading in US SP 500 and US Tech 100 CFDs for Japanese clients of StoneX Securities, according to the company announcement reported on 21 October 2026. The Japanese release carries a 16 October dateline; the wire publication and dedicated media coverage followed on 21 October.
Trading starts at 5 p.m. Tokyo time on Saturday and continues into the weekday session, with a one-hour break each morning, according to Finance Magnates. The extension concerns broker-issued CFDs. It does not mean the US cash-equity exchanges or their underlying index markets remain open over the weekend.
The report separately describes 7-Day versions announced on the international FOREX.com site for GAIN Global Markets, which is regulated in the Cayman Islands. Its Saturday opening time is 08:00 UTC, equivalent to 5 p.m. in Tokyo. Matching opening times do not make the Japanese and international contracts the same legal offering.
StoneX Securities calls its two-contract service a Japanese first based on its own 8 October review of domestic provider websites. That is a limited, company-made comparison. IG Securities already offers a separate Weekend Wall Street contract on the Dow, so the claim should not be broadened to every type of weekend index CFD in Japan.
FOREX.com’s international product explanation says weekend 7-Day prices use alternative index reference markets while futures are closed and spreads may be wider than on weekdays. Japanese clients need their local product specification for applicable pricing, hours and account terms. The weekend index launch follows the Japanese entity’s August overnight extension for selected Japanese share CFDs and knock-out options, but it is a separate product change.
